Who we are

Plain Tax (plaintax.co.uk) is a trading name of World Gig Insider Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 17309912), 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA. We are the data controller for this site. Contact: [email protected].

The calculators

Everything you type into a calculator is processed in your browser and is never sent to us or stored anywhere.

E-mail addresses

If you ask for a free guide or join a waiting list we store your e-mail address, which guide you asked for, the page you were on, your answers to the waiting-list questions, and the date. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in sending you what you asked for (and, under PECR, the "soft opt-in"). We only send further e-mails — occasional tax deadline reminders — if you ticked the box; you can unsubscribe with one click in any e-mail or by writing to us. We keep addresses for 3 years from your last interaction, then delete them. Data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure (EU/UK data centres available; Cloudflare is bound by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum).

Abuse prevention

When you submit a form we store a one-way hash of your IP address combined with the date, to limit automated submissions. It cannot be turned back into your IP and is discarded with the record.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or track you across sites, to count page views and referrers.

Affiliate links

Some links to third-party services are affiliate links: if you sign up we may earn a commission. The partner may set its own cookies when you arrive on their site; that is governed by their privacy policy, not ours. Affiliate links never change the numbers a calculator shows.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to processing, by e-mailing [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
